Packard (1899-1956) was one of American Auto's success stories. Packard production hit the ground running as an upscale car which status it maintained 'till the end. The story of Packard is marvelous but in some respects sad. There are many theories as to why such a great car like Packard ended up as a museum piece, but in the final analysis, business practices and bad decisions sank Pankard. On June 25, 1956 the last Packard rolled off the assembly line.
