Citroen is a child of France, and was born in 1919 with Andre Citroen as father. Today the name "Citroen" is synonymous with technical progress in motor-car production. It was the first in Europe to utilize the assembly method of production, and became the parent of the front-drive Traction Avant in the 30's, the 2CV in the 40's, and the hydraulic suspended D's in the 1950's. It is unfortunate that the US has been deprived of these great cars because of French inability to understand the finesse of American marketing. In Europe, Citroen was the first with steel unibody construction and with front wheel drive, and the hydraulic suspension system, plus many other innovations taken for granted today.

Many of the following photos are from Red Dellinger's Citroen dealership at Lewisberry, PA. This operation no longer exists and all the cars have been hauled away
