NUSSLIHAUS BOOKS began as the Nusslihaus (little nut house)Restaurant in 1973 in Goshen, Indiana. The "BOOKS" moniker was added in 1998 with the book, Where Do All The Memories Go?-- My Life Story And Extended Family Influences."
When the 1915 diary of Frank C. Nissley surfaced in a box of loose photos, a trip in the year 2000 followed this diary over the Lincoln Highway. This led to another in 2001. The interesting people of the towns and ranches he visited became the inspiration for Lincoln Highway, The Road My Father Traveled. Additional book items, like book shelving, book markers, plus some additional books will be added later as they become available.
D. Lowell Nissley is the son of photographer parents and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, growing up in the environs of the Lincoln Highway in eastern Pennsylvania. He is a retired Mennonite minister and resides with his wife in Sarasota, Florida.
